Today was the end of lyrics week. It felt weird to be able to photograph anything I wanted today and not have to wait for the time that I could scrawl lyrics on something and make them visible, etcetc. It was nice to have that freedom, but I almost forgot to take pictures again.

I took a bunch of pictures of Jamie's lights, but this one was the beeest. I really like it. It's so simple, but so pretty. I guess I've been playing with light and dark recently, too.

I think this would be a fun print to plan a room around.

A little bit of John Mayer for a Saturday night. I felt it was appropriate. It almost seems like a war protest picture to me.

And along with that, I wonder if anyone is stealing my pictures from the internets yet. I hope not. =(

So this is a little emo, but I think, given the song that iTunes picked, I did a pretty decent job. It could have been much worse, I think!

I won't tell you my fabulous technique (how I got the words in the sink), but I'm sure if you think for, oh, a second, you could probably figure it out. Okay, maybe I'm overestimating how obvious it is. I did feel quite clever when I thought of this.

You all will have to tell me how this compares to the other sink picture when I post my February pictures on facbeoo. =)

I forgot to take pictures today (Thursday).

I know, I know. I'm a horrible person. However, I did think of a clever lyric to make up for it, and then forced Kaity to have a photoshoot with me. Lovely! And I got this AMAAAZING picture out of it. This could be one of my all-time (this year) faves. It might help that I'm a pretty big fan of this song. But it also helps that she is a superior model.

I don't think I'm going to say anymore. I think I'm going to let the picture speak for itself.

iTunes chose today's song of the day- "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)." It did a good job! My original plan was to write on the window and take pictures of that. However. That did not work.
This turned out slightly better. I wish I could have moved the mirror, though. It was stuck where it was on the door and there are so many posters on the wall that were kind of getting in the way. I still like this more than I anticipated, though. Although I did a lot of color editing and such. Ah, well.
That's Barbi Bear in case you were wondering. ♥

Today was a "Just Keep Swimming" kind of day. It's kind of a "Just Keep Swimming" kind of week. It's midterms. Ugh.

I wasn't sure whether I liked this shoot, but I actually kind of like the way the comforter can pass for waves, with the blue and the diagonal creases. I also like some of the fishies that are swimming the wrong way. I think they're cute. And fun. Good for them for swimming against the crowd...

And these poor Goldfish got eaten after their photoshoot!

Aw, song day part deux! Today's song was "Everyday" by Dave Matthews Band. It was the song of the day (dad-style... ie I woke up with it stuck in my head...) and you can watch the video here!

I had a really cool photo shoot with Eve and Jame and Lyss, but I had to cut it short for various reasons, and didn't realize that I hadn't actually gotten one with all of them smiling which waaasn't blurry. But I ended up really liking this one in black and white. =)

You should really listen to (and love) this song.

This week is going to be my song lyrics week. Every day I want to take a picture either explicitly representing song lyrics or a picture which, like this one, includes the lyrics in it. I think it will be a fun challenge. Day One went pretty well!

This is a lame song, but I like the picture. It was really hard to chalk this, though, because the surface isn't really prime chalking surface. =(
Luckily I pulled through. Also, it was a little cold, which is what I'll blame the crooked lines on... And the sidewalk was gross with salt stains. If I do chalk again, I'll have to find a cleaner sidewalk...
HAHA.
Stay tuned, fooolks!

I'm getting up there in days! I'm ... 1/7 done? Ish.

Oh Sofi. ♥

Anywho, it was nice to spend some qualitay time with my kittay! She's such a good model. Look at her "Staring off into the distance" look! She's a natural. It creeps me out, a little, how skinny her pupils are though...

My blog dulled the colors! LAME.

Oh well.

Jamie's uncle? cousin? I can't keep track... Anyway, some male relative sent her this flower. Which I took full advantage of. So thank you, Mr Someone Somehow Related To My Wonderful Roommate...

I had a problem with this "photo shoot" that I don't have with a lot of my others, which was the crazy sun! It was soo bright. I had to DEsaturate everything!
CRAZY.

I have a zillion edits of (basically) this shot that I kind of like. You'll see them all on facebook in a week or so, when I do my month-end roundup.

Today's kind of a cheating day.
I want to submit some of my art to the Rolling Stonehill, so I spent a lot of time editing some of my older pictures and I was hoping it would count for today. Please, guys? Please? ...

Anyway. I love this picture. I took it on the ferry ride over to Frye Island once this summer. It was my first time driving up to Maine by myself (not that I couldn't before, but usually there's no need to take a separate car...). It was kind of a big deal for me for whatever reason. It has always been a family drive and for me to do it by myself was just ... symbolic, I guess.
I love this picture for a couple of reasons, though, including the straight-up admission that I just love Frye Island. But I also love the mirror in this picture, and also the sky. I think it's a really neat composition (if I do say so myself... which I do...). It's almost a little mind-puzzle-esque...

And Fiona reappears in my photoblog! Congratulations, girl, haha!

I love this scene. I have to admit that I encouraged her to make the bears kiss, but I think the way she's looking at them is just classic. It's so "little kid." And I think it looks like a very sweet interaction going on between the bears, too. Like the boy bear just gave flowers to the girl bear and she's so happy and now they're kissing! ...It's okay that I'm ridiculous... right? Good. =)

I kind of wish that one bear wasn't white, though. Oh well.

I love when it snows when we're in class! Walking to Duffy from the Ed building I saw this cool footprint pattern.

It was really slippery...

Fiona was watching the Olympics with Jame and me. Sort of. She was really actually flipping through my Spanish version of People magazine. I like this picture because she looks gooorgeous. =)
But I also like it because of the motion of her hand. I just think it's cool.

Not a big fan of the hugely cluttered background (brought to you by my little bed nook...), but what can ya do?

It was cold when I took this picture. It's actually another Boston picture, taken right in Kenmore Square, standing in the lot in which I parked. I saw the shoes and I just wanted them to be in my camera. Haha! That sounds weird, but it's true. I just see these things and I want to have pictures of them, to see if I can make them look artsy. And I just love shoes over wires like this. There's so much mystery to them! Why are they there? Who put them there? How? How many tries did it take them!?
I don't like that the sign is a bit blown out in this picture. But I didn't realize that until it was too late and I was already editing the pictures. I noticed a cop hanging out in the lot and was afraid that he was waiting to ticket me for some reason, so I just jumped in my car and jetted!

Honestly, I don't even know where I was when I took this picture. Shelley (or Mike) could tell you. But I was with them, so I wasn't paying attention to where I was. All I know is that it's somewhere near where they live (therefore somewhere in Boston ish) and it was taken outside the building in which Mike works (which, coincidentally, is also the building in which we had breakfast... or perhaps not so coincidentally...).
This was the first shot that I took, but it's by far my favorite. I love it when that happens. It's sort of like I just got it right on the first try. I just really like the composition of the buildings for whatever reason. It's even better when it's bigger, but that's a little hard to do on this stinky blog. Oh well.

Anyway, rock on Boston! =)

Mmmm Snow and Stanger. Two of my favorite S words. HAhaha, mostly kidding. I don't discriminate between words. I was in class and I saw this out the window and I knew I had to snap the picture! The shadows are so cool! Maybe the B+W takes away from it a little, although now I can't decide. Hm. Well, it's a nice snow and late afternoon picture. So cute, Stonehill!

The essence of college dining. Plastic pepper shakers, paper napkin dispensers, cookies from the bakery and TOTS!
I took this picture to commemorate the aMAzing cookies I got from the bakery, but it turned out to be quite a statement on college life, hah. I don't have too much to say about this picture photographically (besides "It was nice to have light for once..."), but I do like it quite a bit. And yes, those are candy heart phrases on those cookies. BRILLIANT.

Snowday!

I like the shadows in this picture and all the lines. The lighting was hard to deal with, so it's kind of yellow, but I still like it. I think, maybe now that I'm looking at it, I could manage to crop/straighten it a bit. Maybe I'll do that later...
I also like the diagonal lines of snow in the background. =)

Eve has a little disco ball which is 6 inches high. It has real mirrors on it. I found it to be a fascinating subject...
It was interesting to try to catch the different ways the light bounced off of the mirrors and to use different shutter speeds to make it blurry or clear. It was definitely a very cool experiment in camera knowledge. Turns out I don't have much!
Love you.

KEVIN! He loooves the camera. I started taking pictures of him and he was legitimately ZOOMING around the tank. He was loving the attention. I think he's sad that I haven't been spending as much time at my desk this semester. Don't worry, Kevvy boy, it will be midterms soon. =/

I really like him in this picture because he looks so ethereal. And he's a pretty blue! I'll have to take more pictures of him soon. Maybe he'll get used to the attention.

Everyone loves a good color-pop now and then.
I spent a few hours tonight making Valentines for my Valentines. It was sooo much fun. I ignored my homework and watched the Sound of Music with Jamie and made four looovely Valentine's Day cards. =)

Again, not a fabulous picture, but I like the top right corner which shows all my fun stickers and sequins. And I like all the layers in this picture, because I think they represent all the stuff that was all over my bed and eeeverywhere, as paper and stickers and markers tend to do when I'm scrapping.
I am also really proud of the cards and want to show them off!

I don't think it's a good-quality photograph, but if you can look at this and not smile, I want you to teach me how to play poker.

We had a sober dance party tonight in Cotuit. It was wonderful. We used Eve's speaker system and her disco ball which is 6 inches high (including a battery...) and we just danced out the week. =) It felt good. I was taking pictures of my girls' shadows on the ceiling and someone instigated a star.
I like it.
This picture took a lot of processing (as you can imagine...), but I like its simplicity; I don't think that the (almost)over-processing takes away from it too much. It wasn't too much to begin with, so since it's only really got simplicity going for it, I don't mind that it's kind of grainy, etc. Rock on Cotuit.

I love this! I'm a big fan of the sky (which you know if you've ever met me around sunset). This was actually taken through my window, which faces West, amazingly.
Sunset is absolutely my favorite time of day, and this was a tiny bit after sunset. The horizon was still a little colorful, and the sky wasn't totally dark yet. And this picture captures one of my favorite things about the sky, which is the way it can be so many colors at once, or even so many variations of one color. I love it when it's almost white at the horizon and yet dark blue up in the sky. Like this picture, actually. =) So cool. And I think the outline of Flynn (the dorm there that's black...) makes it very homey and lets you know that I don't live in "Big Sky Country, " just Eastern MA. There's much more sky here than there is at home, but still not as much as in CO or even Northern Maine.

I hope you enjoy this picture as much as I do. It could be one of my favorites from the whole year. And even if you don't like it that much, at least now you know how much I love the sky. ♥ Caela.
