Summer 52: Plum Island

Absolutely gorgeous, as you can see.
Even when it was raining...

Summer 52: Sunset on Plum Island

While I was walking down the street to take this,
a man passing me the other way muttered that a "photo can't capture..."

He was right
(also this is a really dull photo)

Summer 51: "Like a butterfly, crushed to the wheel..."

"A moth, drawn to the light!"
(+10 for anyone who can name that musical. WITHOUT googling.)

This was the grate of the truck in Bev and Dale's driveway.
I found it incredibly poetic. Call me a romantic.

Summer 50.75: Exploring the beach caves after dinner

We went for a quick walk on the beach after dinner and before we took our group picture.
Cool caves and kinda wonky light settings. I really like it though.

Summer 50.5: Another view of Eastport

Just a shot of the ocean in Eastport.
=) It was a lovely half day.
Summer 50: Josh looking pensive on the dock.

Okay so this wasn't taken today.
I have too many good pictures from mission trip
This was our half day of work and Josh was hanging with me.

I think he looks almost perfectly hipster-
certainly an admirable amount of hipsterness for not having any clue what a hipster is, I'm sure.

Summer 49: Grant's building

I think you can tell by this picture (if not, stay tuned for a few others of Grant) that he is a model.
I love this picture.

Summer 48: Plants and stuff

Oh I don't know.
I found this cute fuzzy plant by the driveway of the house we were working on.
I liked it.

I think this was directly before we got DOWNPOURED on again.

Summer 47: Camp =)

I will never not love this place.
I don't know if you can really see it, but there's a cross on the right end of the house.
That cross is made out of mirrors which have replaced the shingles on the house.
One of my favorite decorative features on any of the camp cabins.

Summer 46: Kennebunk on 95N

Joseph and I stopped for lunch on our way up to Machias.
And look at the gorgeous ceiling of this rest stop!
I've always loved the Kennebunk stop.

Summer 45: This is irrelevant to today...

...except that I WISH I had sushi

Taken at Em's and my cute sushi place off of Harvard Sq
Cool lights, right?

Summer 44: This was an incredibly inappropriate picture to take

I was sitting in the front row of my concert band at our concert in Wrentham and took a second while Steve was speaking to snap this of his back and the crowd. I wanted to give you a look at my viewpoint during our concerts.
It actually turned out to be a pretty decent picture- I really like it.

Summer 43: Bridge over "the fens"

Went to Boston to meet Mom, Dad, and Julie.
Apparently I'm getting a bridge thing.

Summer 42: Unconventional Stonehill

I like looking at Stonehill from on top of things.

haha, I think it's a nice metaphor =)

Summer 41: Science Center to nowhere

Clearly I have had an interesting experience with the Science Center,
discovering it on my own terms in the dead of summer.

A nice man almost walked into my picture, but stopped.

Summer 40: Chapel

Approximately 180 degrees from the picture below
More sky, more silhouettes, more Stonehill beauty.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Summer 39: The Pond will always make me happy

I love taking photos at sunset.
I have sky and silhouette and the pond going on here-
trifecta win!

Monday, July 11, 2011

Summer 38: I like these grassy-wheat-y things

I got it more in focus this time =)

Sunday, July 10, 2011

Summer 37: There's a briiight golden haaze on the meadoooooow...

Okay, so it's not exactly Oklahoma, but this was fairly meadow-y until today.
They let it all grow almost to 5 feet and then MOWED it down.
I suspect hay-making...

Summer 36: My Love, Maryalice (CONLEY) Moore

Found this in the SciCenter and I just love it so much.
I want to put it up in the Moore Center
(next to a picture of the woman herself, hopefully)

♥ ♥ Maryalice

Summer 35: Because we truly have a beautiful campus

View from the 2nd floor of the Science Center on a warm afternoon

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Summer 34: This is how I feel about Stonehill at the moment

I don't think I have any more to say about that.

Summer 33: Work by the Pond

Woke up SUPER cranky this morning.
I thought that if I did my work someplace beautiful,
it would be hard to be cranky.
Thankfully, I was right.

This table behind Campus Ministry is so underrated

Summer 32: Sheep Pasture
There was a beautiful sunset tonight,
but I missed it because I was grocery shopping.
I saw the very end of it from the parking lot and then raced to
the sheep pasture to attempt to capture it.

I missed.
But I got this decent silhouette instead?

Summer 31: Line Dancing at Lake Massapoag
In between the second and third sets of the concert
with Sharon Concert Band, the DJ was playing group dancing songs.
I can't remember which song this was, but I thought it was so sweet.

Happy Fourth.

Summer 30: Bell Jar Candle Lights
Lyss and I passed this on our walk home from the bar yesterday
(...yep.)
It was beautiful!
The nearly-ocean-front property didn't hurt either.

Saturday, July 2, 2011

Summer 29: Sitting on a bridge

We were thinking, not lost.
Went to Guilford for the weekend to see Lyssa
to make my life sensible again.

ocean + best friend = otherwise unattainable calm

Summer 28: I forget what this lake is called

Em and I went and sat by the lake/pond/water attraction on 123
It was beautiful until the bugs came out.

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Summer 27: I took a LOT of pictures in Boston

I think I just liked the giant neon treble clef.
The architecture's okay, too, I guess.

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Summer 26: The Paramount

I wasn't terribly interested in a picture of the Paramount
but I thought I HAD to take advantage of the opportunity while there was no traffic
It came out kind of cool and circusy.

Summer 25: Sullivan Square

Waiting for the T to go meet Kate in town.

Monday, June 27, 2011

Summer 24: Words on the Wall
This was on a building out of M+S's neighborhood on the way to the T
If a google search can be trusted, these are original words.

It makes them that much more mysterious.

Summer 23: Lit up at Night

Church on the corner of Beacon and... Tremont, I believe
Walked with Kate on a beautiful beautiful warm summer night.
No agenda, just hanging.

Perfect.

Summer 22: Beacon Hill

At Sunset.
With the sun shining on the capitol building.
I think this is pretty stellar.

Friday, June 24, 2011

Summer 21: Silhouettes and Sunsets and a Green Lantern

Perfectly me.
fin.

Summer 20: Gorgeous Geometry at Sunset

I love the curves at the top of the picture contrasted with
the straight line angles of the bottom of the picture.

And the sun is the coolest.

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Summer 19: Boston Common

Casual graves on Boston Common
Cat/house sat for Mike and Shelley
and went in to Chinatown to meet up with Kate

Walked around the common for a bit;
they have the prettiest graveyards in Boston.

Summer 18: Investigating the Void

The Religious Studies department has moved out of Duffy
and into the Old Student Union
(which you should be able to see in this picture, but can't)
I found this record in the place where their offices used to be,
which is now just one large room.

I blame Beisheim, but I could be wrong.

Summer 17: Seeing Orientation From a Completely Different Perspective

Playfair is going on in the corner of this picture.
We creeped on all the new freshies and
it made me think a lot about the past three years.

Who knew three years (six semesters) could go
SO fast?

Summer 16: Pre-Father's Day Shindig

I have an amazing father.
Not everyone has an amazing father, which makes me appreciate mine even more.
But I have an amazing father, and he has an amazing father,
and I'm willing to bet that his son will be an amazing father, too.

So lucky. xxxx
Summer 16.5: Dad's Creation

Bananas Foster on the grill?
Freaking brilliant man.
xx

Summer 15: Because Epsilon is my fave kitteh to photograph

I mean.
Look at this picture.

Casually chilling on the boxes beginning to pile up at D+J's

Goooorg.

Summer 14: Grampa's Scallions

Or, as he explained, GRAMMA's scallions.
Because you don't need them a lot, but when you do,
it's nice to have them in the backyard.

He brought them from the house on Downing St.
They used to be his mother's, and we have some at home, too.

What is it with food and plants and this family?

Thursday, June 16, 2011

Summer 13: Window to Summer

Gramma and Grampa have these GREAT windows on their porch.
I've always loved these windows-
they open inward and they have screens that open outwards,
and they are long and narrow so you can hang out the wash from inside!

They always seemed magical to me somehow.
Like... I could sneak outside via the window and it was just SO MUCH COOLER than using the door.
You know?

Summer 12: Pilgrimage to Somerville
I only use the word pilgrimage because of connotations of Connor and Chaucer.

Thanks to Liz for driving and Em and Hannah putting up
with us chasing this sunset around Somerville.
I never ended up getting a picture I liked
(or was straight... I took about 8 pictures, all of which are crooked).

But the sky's pretty even if the picture is not.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Summer 11: Another cop-out
I took no pictures today. Want to know why?
I did work instead. =(

Ugh.
The horrible life of full-time employment.
(JUST KIDDING. I LOVE HAVING A JOB)

Monday, June 13, 2011

Summer 10: My new best friend

I love Iz.
I have a great picture of her and Em together, but this one is better photographically.
Which tells you how crappy the other one must be, hahaha. =)

Nice to just play on the quad with my friends sometimes.

Summer 9: Taking advantage of the Farm
This isn't my favorite photo from today,
but it does represent the space well.

I felt a particular affinity to growing things today,
so I went to the farm to just be with them.

Coming from a sleepy seed, eating the dirt,
completely changing your form so your life makes sense,
blooming and pushing hard through the earth to reach the sun?
Yeah. I gotchu, homeskillet. We're speakin' the same language.

Thrive.

Summer 8: Today looked nothing like this

Today was a GROSS June day.
It barely made 60F and it was rainy and wet and dreary.

This picture, however, was taken on a beautiful June day last week.
I prefer this to the sleepy, wet weather.

Summer 7: Willy Wonka, Jr

Peter needed a friend to help with his elementary school's show,
so I decided that this would be the year I learned how to use a spotlight!

This spot and I have become pretty decent friends =) ♥
